"Many bright moments occur daily with the Kart 4 Kids, but my favorite involves a newer patient - very very shy and nervous in the medical setting. We have progressed from very limited conversation, minimal eye contact all the way to the patient asking for me upon arrival, sharing jokes, milestones, family photos, and more! Building rapport with this patient would have been much slower, if at all possible, without the Kart. It is the perfect icebreaker and visible signal to this young patient that I am a safe space for the whole family while they are here under our care. Thank you so much for all you do!"

"A very touching moment is when I received an email from a deceased former patient's parent who had started a foundation in her child's memory. In the email, the mother expressed her sincerest gratitude for such a positive memorable experience during such a dark time and sharing her vivid memory of her little boy's giant smile while picking something off the Kart 4 Kids after weekly radiation treatment. Mother also shared her memory of him trying to politely coerce us to give him more than one prize."

"Recently, we had a patient in clinic for a long day of infusions and treatment. We brought the Kart in and shared snacks and an activity book. This family was so happy and the Kart helped provide distraction and brought joy. Every time this Kart comes out, it is such a treat.

"On our BMT unit, the kids stay for long periods of time (months sometimes) and recently a Lite Brite was given to a patient by Go4theGoal. The young person was absolutely delighted and used it every day. She lost her voice at one point and used the Lite Brite to communicate with staff. It was fun and special for her :)"
