In honor of Eve Fries, who lost her battle with brain cancer in 2021, DePaul Prep Softball has raised an incredible $37,000 since 2022 which helps Go4theGoal provide financial support for other kids like Eve in the Chicago area. "Many bright moments occur daily with the Kart 4 Kids, but my favorite involves a newer patient - very very shy and nervous in the medical setting. We have progressed from very limited conversation, minimal eye contact all the way to the patient asking for me upon arrival, sharing jokes, milestones, family photos, and more! Building rapport with this patient would have been much slower, if at all possible, without the Kart. It is the perfect icebreaker and visible signal to this young patient that I am a safe space for the whole family while they are here under our care. Thank you so much for all you do!"
