Our Kart 4 Kids program provides pediatric oncology units with free, high-quality toys, electronics, gift cards, and more. These items provide hope and agency to a patient’s treatment experience and helps build trust with their caregivers. Most of the time, the people entering a patient’s room don’t offer a choice of what happens next. When a Kart Ambassador comes by, they’re only there to bring joy.

Increase patient agency
The Kart is one of the few things patients get a choice over while they are in the hospital. The Kart can offer toys, games, and even snacks for all ages. Families can join in on the fun.
Boost caregiver morale
We know that nurses, child life specialists, social workers, and volunteers do not always get to see their patients smile. With the Kart program, unit staff can bring a little positivity into their patients’ and their own day.
Encouragement for patients
Sometimes, getting the courage to go through a procedure is hard. The items on the Kart are a great way for caregivers to give a little boost of encouragement and support a child through their treatment or reward them afterwards.
Bring normalcy to the hospital
During hospital stays, patients often miss out on milestone events from birthdays to holidays or graduations. Kart items can be given out to celebrate these important events.
Go4theGoal has been providing our department with the Kart 4 Kids and it has been amazing. We have been utilizing this Kart for our oncology patients who are receiving treatment. When kids see the Kart (full of snacks and toys), their eyes light up with excitement. Kids and families have enjoyed receiving all these goodies. I hope we can maintain this program for years to come!
