6th Annual Richard's Run

The 6th annual Richard’s River Run brought out runners, walkers, and supporters not only from the Camden County, NJ area but also from Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.  We would like to thank our presenting sponsors: Brandywine Assisted Living of Haddondfield and The Access Group in helping raise 30k.  We also want to thank the many other sponsors of the day’s event…Sports Authority, Advocare, Dilworth Paxon, Cherry Hill Health and Racquet Club, Cooper River Ballet, UPS Store of Cherry Hill, Amy’s Omelette House, Dr. Gary Sapienza, Wegmans, Justin’s Nut Butter, Starbucks, Harris School of Business, McFarlan’s Market, Goldenberg’s Peanut Chews, and Cornely School of Driving.  Special thanks goes out to students from Camden Catholic High School for volunteering their time beginning at 5am on race day.   The Tim Frantz memorial awards went to Korey Jefferies, age 18, with a time of 17:35 and Meghan Giordano, age 13, with a time of 22:52.

Bari and Bill Gulsby of Centreville Va., drove up their “Go4theGoal” truck to support the run.  A few months back the Gulsby’s contacted G4G to see if they could put our logo on their son Dalton’s truck.  Dalton passed away from Ewings Sarcoma in August of 2010, a few short days after his 16th birthday.  This was the first time that all of us at G4G were able to see this in person.  We appreciate the early morning departure from Virginia and were extremely moved by seeing Dalton’s truck!

Richard’s Run HHK 5k

It was a beautiful Sunday morning on September 30th and 1,300 plus runners came out to enjoy the 9th annual Richard’s Run HHK 5K!  Leading the morning off was the Bergen County Pipes and Drums followed by the start gun lead by Mayor Randall.

Thank you to Benzel Busch Mercedes and Smart Car of Englewood for providing us our pace car again this year, which lead the runners safely through the race route. For the third year in a row with a time of 16:21 our winner was Alan Wells from Orlando, Florida.  We had many stand out runners this year…congratulations to our youngest winners, Kai Fosshage age 8 with a time of 26:15 and Allison Lounsbury age 8 with a time of 22:26.

This successful event could not be possible without the many volunteers that come out early morning to help set up and ensure that we have a safe and fun day.  A special thank you to the HHK Police Department, the HHK DPW, the HHK Rec Association, the HHK Volunteer Ambulance Corp., Mayor Randall and the HHK Town Council, Willie and Anne Wilson for the music, and our many volunteers that help out each year.

The Second Annual Richard’s Run Bellevue

Celebrated American Novelist, Edith Wharton said, “There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.” The Second Annual Richard’s Run Bellevue on Saturday, September 29th shone for all! The second year of this inspiring local and neighborhood event brought out over 500 runners, walkers and supporters to help raise funds for Go4theGoal Foundation and the area’s Seattle Children’s Hospital. With the help of Platinum Sponsors, Advanced Orthodontics and Premier Periodontics, among many other caring companies, race day was a huge success.

Mother Nature delivered picture perfect weather for the family fun run that started with the signature Courageous Kids Awards going to five year olds Ryan and Leo. These two local heroes were greeted with cheers from friends and neighbors who saw the direct connection between their support of Richard’s Run Bellevue and the ongoing work of Go4theGoal Foundation.

The Richard’s Run Bellevue Steering Committee is evaluating race day and already planning for more excitement next year. To see highlights from race day, visit us on Facebook. Simply search on Richard’s Run Bellevue and join us!
